Comet Holmes:

Discovered by the British amateur astronomer Edwin Holmes on November 6, 1892. In October 2007 Holmes brightened too a factor of a million, the outburst was the largest for a comet. The coma( a thin shell of dust ) expanded to a diameter greater than the sun itself, briefly making it the largest object in Sol System. It was visible to the naked eye for a brief period of time.The cause of this outburst could be from a meteroid , build up of gas, to the heat of the Sun.
